President John Dramani Mahama has ordered the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to be held accountable, particularly regarding the budget for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

In his State of the Nation Address, the President said “There will be no secrecy in how much the government spends on the national teams.”

Describing the Black Stars as “a pale shadow of its former glory”, President Mahama expressed the opinion that “The public has the right to know how taxpayer funds are used.”
