The Ghana Police Service has arrested Grace Siaw, the girlfriend of Daniel Febiri, also known as Brimah, who is the prime suspect in the murder of Nana Pooley (Francis Yaw Frimpong).

Febiri, who is believed to have fled following the fatal stabbing of Pooley during a match on February 17, has been on the run ever since.

Authorities say Miss Siaw helped conceal the suspect and assisted him in fleeing the country, helping him travel to Senegal via Côte d’Ivoire between February 4 and 17.

Asante Kotoko, Pooley’s football club, confirmed the arrest on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating: “Grace Siaw, the girlfriend of Daniel Febiri (aka Braima, Ashi, or Rasta), has been remanded in custody after being brought to court on February 25.

She is set to appear in court again today as the investigation continues.”

Pooley was fatally stabbed during his club’s Matchday 19 fixture against Nsoatreman FC. His death has deeply affected the local football community, with plans for his funeral scheduled for March 6, according to Asante Kotoko’s Alex Manu.
