The management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has extended heartfelt appreciation to individuals, institutions, and organizations that stood by them during the final funeral rites of their late supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, popularly known as Pooley.

In an official statement, the club acknowledged key figures, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Ashanti Regional Police Commander, and other high-ranking officials who showed their support.

The club also expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), including President Kurt Okraku, Vice President Mark Addo, and other key stakeholders.

Rival clubs such as Accra Hearts of Oak, Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, and Bibiani Gold Stars were also recognized for their solidarity, alongside members of the media, particularly in Kumasi.

Kotoko’s management reserved special praise for their dedicated supporters, both those who were present and those who supported from afar. They commended their unity and resilience, reaffirming that Asante Kotoko is more than just a football club—it is a family bonded by loyalty and unbreakable spirit.

As they continue to mourn, the club urged everyone to honor Pooley’s memory by upholding the values that define the Porcupine Warriors.

“Rest in peace, Francis Yaw Frimpong. You will forever remain in our hearts,” the statement concluded.
