President John Dramani Mahama has sworn in a new set of deputy ministers, including prominent figures such as actor-turned-politician John Dumelo and Alhassan Suhuyini, in a ceremony held at Jubilee House on Wednesday, 12 March 2025. The newly appointed officials were approved by Parliament after a successful vetting process.
The deputy ministers will assist their respective sector ministers in implementing government policies, with a focus on improving national development and service delivery across various sectors. Mahama, during the ceremony, urged the appointees to work diligently and uphold the interests of the Ghanaian people, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and commitment to the country’s growth.
In addition to Dumelo and Suhuyini, the following individuals were sworn in as deputy ministers:
- Justice Srem-Sai – Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Justice and Attorney General
- Ernest Brogya Gyenfi – Deputy Minister for the Ministry of Defence
- Thomas Nyarko Ampem – Deputy Minister for Finance
- Dr. Clement Apaak – Deputy Minister for Education
- Sampson Ahi – Deputy Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry
- Ebenezer Okletey Terlabi – Deputy Minister for the Ministry of the Interior
- Richard Gyan-Mensah – Deputy Minister for Energy and Green Transition
- Yusif Sulemana – Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources
- Yussif Issaka Jajah – Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts
- Rita Naa Odoley Sowah – Deputy Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy & Religious Affairs
- Gizella Tettey-Agbotui – Deputy Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources
- Lydia Akanvariba – Minister of State for Public Sector Reforms
