John Dumelo, Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon (AWW), joined environmental advocates Wode Maya and the BuzStop Boys in a sanitation initiative aimed at addressing Accra’s ongoing waste management issues.

The cleanup event, which took place on March 31, 2025, focused on clearing blocked gutters in the Okponglo area as part of a broader environmental campaign. Dumelo, who also serves as Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, was seen actively participating in the effort, using a shovel to remove debris and improve water flow in the area

In addition to his physical involvement, Dumelo donated GH₵10,000 to support the BuzStop Boys’ newly imported mini excavator, which will be used in future sanitation efforts across the city.

The cleanup effort was organized in partnership with Wode Maya and coincided with the Eid al-Fitr celebrations in Ghana. The BuzStop Boys, a grassroots organization dedicated to environmental cleanliness, has carried out several successful sanitation projects over the past year, partnering with public figures like actress Nana Ama McBrown to further promote the cause.
