The International Human Rights Commission extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims worldwide while calling for renewed international efforts to ease escalating tensions in the Middle East, as the holiday is observed amid ongoing regional instability.

In a statement marking the end of Ramadan, the commission’s deputy chairman, Abu Zein, expressed concern over the humanitarian toll of recent hostilities, particularly in Palestine and Lebanon. The violence—linked to confrontations involving Israel, Iran and the militant group Hezbollah—has led to civilian casualties and large-scale displacement.

Mr. Zein called for restraint and emphasized the need for a diplomatic resolution that prioritizes civilian protection and human dignity. He urged the international community to intensify efforts toward a durable peace.

The commission reiterated its commitment to promoting human rights and global stability, framing the Eid holiday as an opportunity to reinforce values of compassion, charity and unity in the face of conflict.
