Late Sunday night, a passenger bus operated by OA Transport Services, traveling from Accra to Techiman, unexpectedly caught fire near Nsawam along the Accra-Kumasi highway. The incident, which occurred on an overnight journey, left passengers deeply shaken and raised concerns about the company’s response, particularly regarding potential losses of personal belongings.

Initial reports indicate that the bus, which departed Accra around 9 p.m., was carrying numerous passengers to Techiman in Ghana’s Bono East region. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported, as all passengers managed to safely evacuate the vehicle.

In response to the fire, OA Transport Services arranged an alternative vehicle to transport the stranded passengers to Techiman. Despite these efforts, however, many passengers have voiced frustration over what they describe as a lack of communication and support from the company regarding personal belongings potentially lost in the blaze.

This incident has spotlighted growing concerns over safety and customer service standards within Ghana’s transport sector, with passengers calling for better support and accountability from transport companies in the event of such emergencies.
