Ghana Election 2024: Over 18.7 million people set to vote on December 7 – EC

Ghana’s Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that over 18.7 million people are expected to vote in the upcoming elections on December 7.

In a statement on Monday, Deputy Chairman for Operations Samuel Tettey confirmed that 18,774,159 registered voters are eligible to participate. The figures include voters on the biometric register, special voters, and those without biometric data.

According to the EC, 18,640,811 registered voters have biometric data, while there are 131,478 special voters. A smaller group of 1,870 voters are on the list without biometric data.

This year’s roll reflects an increase of 1,746,518 voters compared to the 2020 election, when 17,027,641 people were registered to vote.
