In a surprising move, President-elect Donald Trump has announced that billionaire Elon Musk, renowned for his innovations in technology and space, will join forces with entrepreneur and political commentator Vivek Ramaswamy to spearhead a sweeping new initiative: the Department of Government Efficiency, or “DOGE.”

In a statement, Trump praised the unique alliance between Musk and Ramaswamy as a potential turning point in his “Save America” movement.

He explained that DOGE’s ambitious objective is to bring about historic efficiency in federal operations and reduce government spending, which currently sits at a staggering $6.5 trillion annually.

“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the “Save America” Movement.

“The Department of Government Efficiency will provide advice and guidance from outside of Government, and will partner with the White House and Office of Management & Budget to drive large scale structural reform, and create an entrepreneurial approach to Government never seen before,” Trump said.

With a target date of July 4, 2026—America’s 250th anniversary—the DOGE team is set to bring unprecedented private-sector insight into Washington, delivering what Trump promises will be a leaner, more accountable government as the ultimate gift to America.
