The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced plans to reprint ballot papers for the Volta and Ahafo regions following serialisation errors.

The decision was confirmed during an emergency meeting of the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) held on November 15

Samuel Tettey, Deputy Chairman of Operations at the EC, said both presidential and parliamentary ballot papers for the two regions were affected by the error, prompting the recall.

“Over the last few weeks, concerns have been raised regarding the serialisation of the ballot papers for Ahafo and Volta regions,” Mr Tettey said.

“While the printing of the ballot papers was largely successful, the issue of incorrect serial numbers has compromised the integrity of the affected ballots,” he added.

To address the issue, the commission has deployed teams to oversee the reprinting process at Buck Press and Acts Commercials, the two designated printing houses.

The EC has assured stakeholders that the defects will be corrected to ensure the smooth conduct of the upcoming elections.
