Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician and producer,Nana Kwaku Osei, popularly known as Nacee, has expressed concern over the inadequate financial compensation received by gospel artistes from event organisers.
Speaking to GhanaWeb during the 2024 Praise Achievement Awards, held on November 24 at the Perez Dome in Accra, Nacee highlighted the financial challenges facing gospel musicians.
“We lack financial support because most gospel musicians, when they perform at programmes, the event organisers are not paying them as much as they deserve. This makes us work harder than we should,” he said.
Nacee emphasised the importance of financial backing, noting that it is essential for the growth and sustainability of gospel music ministries. “With good finances or financial support, we will do more,” he added.
The Praise Achievement Awards celebrates excellence within the gospel music industry and recognises the contributions of artistes, producers, and stakeholders in Ghana.
