Ghana’s Police Service has commended the public for maintaining calm in the aftermath of recent elections, highlighting effective cooperation between security agencies and citizens.

In a statement released on Tuesday evening, police officials emphasized that the country remains peaceful, crediting this stability to collaborative efforts between law enforcement and the community.

Security Measures Implemented

The Police Service detailed several key strategies to preserve national security:

  • Increased joint military and police patrols, conducted day and night, to enhance public safety
  • Intelligence-driven operations targeting potential security threats
  • Strategic placement of security personnel at critical government facilities and official residences
  • Ongoing community engagement to address specific local security concerns

Arrests and Incident Report

Over the past 24 hours, police have arrested nine additional suspects, bringing the total number of post-election-related arrests to 115. Authorities reported no major security incidents during this period, describing the overall situation as “calm and stable”.

Continued Vigilance

The Police Service urged citizens to remain alert and report any suspicious activities, reaffirming their commitment to national peace.

“We will continue to work tirelessly to maintain the peace that Ghana is known for,” a police spokesperson said.

As Ghana navigates its post-election landscape, the police’s proactive approach appears crucial in maintaining national stability.
