President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to deliver his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament on Friday, January 3, 2025, ahead of the dissolution of the 8th Parliament.

The address, required under Article 67 of Ghana’s 1992 Constitution, will provide the President’s final assessment of the nation’s progress as his tenure comes to a close.

The 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic will officially dissolve on Monday, January 6, 2025, with the 9th Parliament convening later that day at 11:00 PM to elect a new Speaker and two Deputy Speakers. The Speaker-elect and newly elected Members of Parliament will take their oaths at midnight, marking the start of the next legislative session.

Parliament has urged media representatives to secure accreditation ahead of these significant events to ensure full coverage.
