Dr. Rashid Tanko-Computer, the Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has accused the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of fabricating their pink sheets for three contested parliamentary constituencies recently declared in their favour by the Electoral Commission (EC).
On Sunday, January 5, the EC announced the results of the re-collation exercise for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, and Techiman South, which saw the NPP candidates declared winners. However, Tanko-Computer contested the re-collated results, claiming that the NPP had fabricated the pink sheets they submitted for the declaration.
Speaking on the Joy News AM Show on Monday, January 6, Tanko-Computer alleged that the NPP had “manufactured” their pink sheets, claiming they created them using laptops rather than presenting original documents from the collation centres. He stated: “They just sat at their laptops, designed the pink sheets, and said these were soft copies.”
The results from the re-collation showed the NPP securing 18,870 votes in Tema Central, 46,663 votes in Techiman South, and 21,099 votes in Okaikwei Central. The NDC received 18,815, 43,429, and 19,368 votes, respectively.
Tanko-Computer further claimed the numbers were fabricated by the NPP at the collation centres and did not reflect the true outcome of the December 7 polls. He reiterated that the NDC has its own figures and remains committed to respecting the legal process, with plans in place to address the disputed constituencies.
The re-collation process for Ablekuma North was temporarily suspended due to challenges in reconciling results from certain polling stations.
