A dispute erupted during the collation of results for the Ablekuma North Parliamentary election, with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) accusing the Electoral Commission (EC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of conspiring to manipulate the outcome in favor of the NPP candidate, Akua Afriyie.
The tension began when NDC agents arrived shortly after the process resumed, claiming they were not informed about the time of the resumption following the suspension of the exercise the previous day.
At the Greater Accra Regional EC office, NDC representatives raised concerns over the fact that the NPP agents and the EC had continued the process without their presence. The NDC has vowed to resist any attempts to influence the result in favor of the NPP candidate.
