President Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence in the incoming administration, welcoming President-elect John Mahama and Vice President-elect in a meeting ahead of tomorrow’s inauguration.

“You are welcome, and Madam Vice President-elect, you are also warmly welcome,” Akufo-Addo said, reaffirming his support for the transition.
The outgoing president assured Mahama that he would be ready to assist the new government as it assumes office.
In response, President-elect Mahama thanked Akufo-Addo and his transition team for ensuring a peaceful and smooth handover. “Thank you very much. It’s a privilege to be here with you on the day before the inauguration,” Mahama said.

Mahama, who is familiar with the Jubilee House from his previous tenure, acknowledged the smooth transition process. “The last time I was president, I didn’t live here, and so you are the first occupant of these premises, but I know the geography of it,” he remarked. He also assured the outgoing administration of continued cooperation in the spirit of mutual respect. “You can count on us to continue the spirit of cooperation even in government,” he added.
