Gospel musician and founder of Rockhill Church in the United States, Sonnie Badu, has prophesied that Ghana’s newly re-elected President, John Dramani Mahama, will soon become a pastor.

In an Instagram post, Badu suggested that Mahama’s re-election for a second term was a sign that he is destined for a future in ministry.

“Now that His Excellency has fulfilled the comeback mission, there is one more hurdle to overcome; call it a prophecy. His Excellency will soon be ordained as a pastor,” Badu wrote.

He added, “He might become the first pastor to serve as a president. Congratulations in advance.”

Mahama was sworn in as the 6th President of the 4th Republic of Ghana on January 7, 2025, after defeating Nana Akufo-Addo in the December 2024 election. The ceremony was held in Parliament at the Black Star Square in Accra, where Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo administered the oath.

Mahama previously served as president from January 7, 2013, to January 6, 2017. He made history by becoming the first president under Ghana’s 4th Republic to lose an election and later return to office following a landslide victory in the 2024 elections.
