Mahama Appoints  Edudzi Tamaklo as Acting CEO of NPA

President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Godwin Edudzi Tamaklo as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the body responsible for regulating Ghana’s petroleum sector.

The announcement was made in a press release by the Presidency on Friday, January 17, 2025. Tamaklo, who is currently the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), brings considerable legal expertise and public service experience to the role.

In a post on social media, Tamaklo expressed his gratitude to President Mahama for the opportunity to serve. “I am deeply honoured by this appointment and will do my utmost to meet the expectations of the position,” he said.

The appointment has been welcomed by both NDC members and stakeholders in the petroleum industry, with many expressing confidence in Tamaklo’s ability to improve the NPA’s efficiency and transparency.
