The Office of the President has issued a directive to government agencies requiring them to submit detailed payroll data for any staff members added since December 7, 2024.

This move, part of a broader effort to enhance payroll oversight under President John Mahama’s administration, aims to strengthen transparency and ensure the accuracy of government payroll records.

Heads of government institutions are being asked to provide key details for each new hire, including the full name, job title, employee identification number (if available), date of appointment, and the date they were added to the payroll.

Agencies have until January 31, 2025, to submit the requested information. The presidency emphasized that this initiative is designed to uphold the integrity of the government’s payroll system.

Julius Debrah, the Chief of Staff, noted that institutions seeking clarification on the directive can contact the Office of the President for further guidance.
