The Appointments Committee of the Ghanaian Parliament is set to vet four ministerial nominees today, including Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the President’s pick for Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. The session, which begins at 9:00 a.m. in Committee Rooms 1 and 2 of the Parliament’s Administration Building, will also evaluate the nominations of three regional ministers-designate: Tia Ibrahim for the North East Region, Dr. Frank Amoakohene for the Ashanti Region, and Akamugri Atanga Donatus for the Upper East Region.

This vetting process represents a critical phase in the confirmation of key government officials selected by President John Dramani Mahama. The committee will examine the qualifications, experience, and proposed policy agendas of the nominees to determine their fitness for the roles.

In previous rounds of appointments, the committee has successfully conducted rigorous assessments, securing parliamentary approval for several nominees. The outcomes of today’s vetting are anticipated to shape the composition of Mahama’s leadership team moving forward.
