Omane Boamah, Four Other Nominees to Face Appointments Committee today

The Appointments Committee of  Parliament will vet five ministerial nominees on Tuesday, 28 January, as part of the approval process for key government positions selected by President John Dramani Mahama.

The vetting will begin at 9:00 am with Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, nominated as Minister for Defence. This will be followed at 11:00 am by the assessment of Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum, MP, who has been nominated as Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives.

In the afternoon, the Committee will continue at 1:00 pm with Adjei Kenneth Gilbert, the nominee for Minister for Works, Housing, and Water Resources. At 3:00 pm, Linda Obenewaa Akweley Ocloo, MP, will be vetted as the Minister-Designate for the Greater Accra Region.

The day’s proceedings will conclude at 5:00 pm with Charity Gardiner, nominated as Minister for the Ahafo Region.

The Committee will assess each nominee’s qualifications, experience, and vision for their respective portfolios.
