Breaking: Alex Segbefia, Ofosu Ampofo Lead Key Appointments to Vice President’s Office

In a significant step toward advancing the “Resetting Ghana” agenda, President John Dramani Mahama has officially approved the appointment of a distinguished team to support the Office of the Vice President.

The announcement, made on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, is expected to bring a wealth of experience and expertise to governance as the administration focuses on building a better Ghana.

The newly appointed officials include Alex Percival Segbefia, who takes on the critical role of Chief of Staff to the Vice President, and Mrs. Alberta Graham, who will serve as Head of Administration.

Accompanying them is Professor Theresah Ennini, designated as Presidential Staffer and Special Aide to the Vice President.

Ensuring the smooth operation of the Vice President’s office, Ms. Daniella Mavis Mathias has been appointed as Secretary to the Vice President. A strong advisory team has also been assembled, featuring Dr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, former national chairman of the NDC, as Policy Adviser for Political Affairs, Prof. Sharif Mahmud Khalid and Dr. Hamza Zakaria as Policy Advisers for Economic Affairs, Ms. Mansa Amoa Awuah as Policy Adviser for Finance, and Dr. Miriam Rahinatu Iddrisu as Policy Adviser for the Social Sector.

Rounding off the appointments, Maame Ama Pratt has been named Press Secretary, a role pivotal in managing communications and disseminating information on the Vice President’s initiatives.

This high-powered team is expected to play a crucial role in shaping policy direction, ensuring administrative efficiency, and supporting the Vice President in delivering on the government’s mandate.
