President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Rev. Daniel Ogbarmey Tetteh from his position as Director-General of the Ghana Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). The move was formalized in a letter issued by the Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama.

In the letter, Rev. Ogbarmey Tetteh was instructed to hand over his duties to Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, who will serve as Acting Director-General of the regulatory body.

The letter did not cite specific reasons for the termination. However, the SEC is expected to maintain its oversight of Ghana’s capital markets during the leadership transition under Dr. Avedzi.
