President John Dramani Mahama has officially sworn in the third batch of 14 new ministers at a ceremony held at the Jubilee House on Wednesday, January 30, 2025.

The new appointments include key figures such as Dr. Edward Omane Boamah as the Minister of Defence, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka as Minister of the Interior, and Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah as Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. Also appointed were Naa Momo Lartey as Minister for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, Kenneth Adjei as Minister of Works, Housing, and Water Resources, and Emmanuel Kwadwo Agyekum as Minister of State in charge of Special Initiatives.

In addition, eight new regional ministers were sworn in to oversee Ghana’s administrative regions:

Tia Ibrahim – North East Region

Dr. Frank Amoakohene – Ashanti Region

Akamugri Atanga Modestus – Upper East Region

Ali Adolf John – Northern Region

James Gunu – Volta Region

Rita Akosua Awatey – Eastern Region

John Kwadwo Gyapong – Oti Region

Linda Akweley Ocloo – Greater Accra Region

These appointments bring the total number of ministers sworn in to 31 out of 42 nominees. Parliament approved the list earlier this week, with the vetting process still ongoing for the remaining nominees. As President Mahama continues to build his cabinet, these new appointments mark a significant step forward in Ghana’s governance.
