In a recent interview with Naija FM, Nigerian singer Timaya opened up about his reasons for remaining unmarried, despite his successful career in the music industry.

Timaya expressed that marriage has never been an aspiration for him, stating, “I’ve never been a married guy right from time, but it can change because marriage ‘dey craze’.” He reflected on the complexities of marriage, saying, “If I marry today, would I be able to get out? In all my previous relationships, I was the one who got out because I don’t like stress.”

The singer emphasized that his reluctance toward marriage is rooted in his desire for freedom and a preference for a stress-free lifestyle. He highlighted the importance of open communication in relationships, noting, “If you have a problem with me, let’s talk about it because I don’t like going to bed thinking about things.”

On the topic of fatherhood, Timaya shared that he has four children who live with their respective mothers. He described his relationship with them as close and enjoyable, despite the challenges of parenting. “Being a father is stressful because I love them too much, but it’s enjoyable,” he said. Timaya noted that he spends quality time with his children, who often visit him for extended periods.

He also mentioned that while he maintains a respectful relationship with the mothers of his children, they are not romantically involved. “We’re all family now, so I can’t date any of them. We respect each other,” he concluded.
