Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa,  newly sworn-in Foreign Affairs Minister, has provided full disclosure regarding his tenancy at Airport Hills in Accra, following questions raised by the Appointments Committee of Parliament.

The Minister requested confirmation from his landlord, Finali Limited, about the terms of his lease agreement for the property located at Plot No. 565, No. 1 Wilshire Boulevard. The request was made after the committee sought clarification on his residential status and property ownership.

In a letter dated February 3, 2025, Ablakwa explained that his decision to disclose this information was in line with his principles of accountability. His proactive move came despite objections raised by the committee’s chairman. In response, Finali Limited provided a letter to the committee confirming the details of the tenancy agreement.

The landlord’s statement included a land title certificate, issued in December 2017, and documents outlining the tenancy agreement between Ablakwa, Husni Altheebeh, and Nuhela Seidu. The agreement, which was renewed in 2022, remains valid.

Ablakwa’s transparency is seen as part of his commitment to upholding integrity and accountability in public office. His disclosure comes as Parliament continues to scrutinize the financial and personal affairs of government officials to ensure greater transparency in the administration.
