Accra Hearts of Oak Celebrates 113 Years of Legacy and Loyalty!

Accra, Ghana – Accra Hearts of Oak, the oldest surviving football club in West Africa, marks its 113th anniversary today with pride and excitement for the future.

Since their founding in 1911, the Phobians have been at the heart of Ghanaian football, creating memories from their very first match to recent victories.

With a legacy that spans generations, Hearts of Oak continues to inspire, bringing together fans, players, and staff who have shared in the club’s historic journey. “We’ve always played for you,” the club said in a social media post, acknowledging the unwavering support of their loyal fanbase.

Today, Hearts of Oak stands as not only a football team but a symbol of Ghanaian passion and resilience.

Considered as one of the most successful clubs in Ghana, Hearts of Oak has claimed the Premier League title 21 times and holds a record 12 Ghanaian FA Cup victories.

The club has also won the Ghana Super Cup three times, the President’s Cup six times, and has lifted both the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup trophies once each.

In 2000, Accra Hearts of Oak achieved global recognition, ranking as the eighth best football club in the world after dominating much of the continent’s football scene.
