Security expert Dr. Adam Bonaa has called for the identification and arrest of individuals who allegedly took photos of their ballot papers during Ghana’s Special Voting Exercise on December 2.

Images of thumbprinted ballots circulated on social media during the voting process, raising concerns about potential breaches of election integrity. In a statement to TV3, Dr. Bonaa condemned the actions, stating that those responsible should “be arrested and dealt with.”

In a separate comment, Ghanaian professor Kwaku Asare expressed his shock on Facebook, writing, “I was shocked to see images of cast ballots circulating on social media. What’s going on?”

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ayawaso Central also raised concerns about voters allegedly photographing their ballots. NDC Chairman Harry Otu told journalists that he observed voters taking pictures after casting their votes, particularly those voting for the NDC’s candidate, Number 1, during the special exercise.
