Alexander Afenyo-Markin has pledged to work diligently as the newly confirmed Minority Leader of the 9th Parliament, following his approval by the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Council.

Speaking to the media after the announcement, the Effutu Member of Parliament expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him by the NPP leadership.

“I thank the National Council for trusting me, and I promise one thing: hard work, hard work, hard work. May God guide me,” Afenyo-Markin said.

His confirmation is part of the NPP’s efforts to strengthen its legislative strategy for the upcoming parliamentary session.

In addition to Afenyo-Markin’s appointment, several other senior NPP members have been appointed to key leadership positions in Parliament: Patricia Apiagyei will serve as Deputy Minority Leader, Frank Annoh-Dompreh as Chief Whip, Habib Iddrisu as First Deputy Minority Whip, and Davies Opoku as Second Deputy Minority Whip.
