The Attorney General’s office is set to file new charges against Prophet Elisha Salifu Amoako, the founder of Alive Chapel International, his wife Moha, and their domestic worker, Linda Bempah, following new evidence that has emerged during investigations.
At a court hearing on Thursday, December 5, State Attorney Yaw Acquah informed the court that the evidence gathered necessitated an amendment to the charges against the trio. “The nature of the evidence compiled so far has made it necessary to amend the charge sheet,” Acquah explained, requesting a short adjournment to allow the prosecution to make the necessary amendments.
The defence lawyers did not object to the adjournment but requested that the case be rescheduled for January 2025, citing Prophet Salifu Amoako’s prior engagements. Judge Samuel Bright Acquah granted the request and adjourned the hearing to January 13, 2025.
The three accused have been charged with permitting an unlicensed individual to drive, after their 16-year-old son allegedly caused a fatal accident in East Legon on October 12, 2024. The teenager drove a white Jaguar F-Pace without a valid license, colliding with an Acura SUV, which caught fire and resulted in the deaths of two 12-year-old girls. All three accused have pleaded not guilty and are currently on GH₵50,000 bail.
