Ghanaian actor and television personality Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has spoken out following a serious road accident on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Friday, 23 May 2025.
The incident occurred near the town of Konongo in the Ashanti Region as the veteran entertainer was en route to Kumasi. According to Akrobeto, a heavy-duty truck collided with his Toyota SUV and dragged the vehicle for approximately 30 metres before both vehicles came to a stop.
In a video posted by UTV on the social media platform X, the 61-year-old described the crash as “fatal” in nature and expressed profound gratitude for escaping without injury.
“The car rammed into mine and dragged me for about 30 metres before the articulator came to a halt for me to also come to a stop. The entire place became crowded in less than five minutes,” he recounted.
Remarkably, neither Akrobeto nor a passenger he was giving a lift to sustained any injuries. He was later examined at a hospital in Kumasi, where doctors confirmed he was in good health.
“After looking at my car and myself, the doctor told me, ‘Your God is a big God.’ Nothing bad happened to me,” he said.
Akrobeto also took the opportunity to thank the public for their outpouring of concern and support, saying he was overwhelmed by the love shown following the incident.
