Colonel Isaac Amponsah, the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to President Akufo-Addo, is reported to be in stable condition after collapsing during the President’s final State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Friday, 3 January 2025.

Col. Amponsah, who was standing behind the President, suddenly collapsed midway through the speech. He received immediate medical attention on-site before being taken to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for further observation.

A source at the Jubilee House has dismissed rumours of serious health concerns, confirming that Col. Amponsah merely experienced dizziness and was discharged later in the afternoon, feeling well.

Col. Amponsah has served as the President’s ADC since his predecessor, Bismark Onwona, was promoted to Major General. Prior to this role, he was an instructor at the Military Training Academy and worked with the Defence Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces.
