The statue of President Nana Akufo-Addo, which was recently damaged by unknown individuals, has been repaired.

The statue, located at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital Roundabout in Sekondi-Takoradi, had drawn significant public criticism following its unveiling, particularly among local youth, with some even calling for its removal.

Eyewitnesses reported that the repairs took place on Wednesday afternoon, December 18, 2024, around 4:00 pm. A team of two men and a woman was seen working on the statue, while a police officer was stationed nearby to provide security later in the evening.

A washing bay attendant told reporters: “I saw the maintenance work in the afternoon. It was only later, as I was heading home, that I noticed the police officer standing guard.”

The repaired statue now stands once again at the busy roundabout, though it remains a point of contention for many in the region.
