Alleged Armed Militants Arrested in Ketu South

Four individuals allegedly deployed to cause unrest in Ketu South have reportedly been apprehended by vigilant residents. According to eyewitnesses, the suspects, armed and dressed in military uniforms, were believed to be intimidating voters in parts of the Volta Region.

The incident unfolded when a vehicle equipped with devices suspected to be network scramblers was spotted near communication masts in Ketu South. Concerned citizens pursued the vehicle, leading to the apprehension of its occupants, who were reportedly armed and prepared to open fire.

Among those detained, one individual was allegedly found with an ID card from the Office of the President, bearing the name Sekyere Joseph.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, residents are urging anyone whose family members may have been given military uniforms and weapons to participate in such activities to advise them to desist and return home peacefully.
