Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams Receives First Ghana Movie Awards Nomination

Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, the founder and general overseer of Action Chapel International, has earned his first-ever nomination for the Ghana Movie Awards. The renowned clergyman was recognised in the Cameo Actor category for his role in the film A Taste of Sin, directed by Frank Rajah Arase.

The prestigious awards ceremony is set to take place on December 24, 2024, at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC), and will celebrate excellence in the Ghanaian film industry.

This year’s nominations highlight a diverse array of talent across multiple categories, including Achievement in Cinematography, Achievement in Directing, and Best Picture. Among the nominees for Actor in a Leading Role are Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin, James Gardiner, and Adjetey Anang, while the Actress in a Leading Role category features Nadia Buari, Jackie Appiah, and Nana Ama McBrown.

Other competitive categories include Actor and Actress in Supporting Roles, with nominees such as John Dumelo, Van Vicker, Sonia Ibrahim, and Roselyn Ngissah, as well as the Discovery of the Year, where rising stars like Rosemond Brown (Akuapim Poloo) and Martina Dwamena (Asantewaa) are competing for the title.

Fred Nuamah, CEO of the Ghana Movie Awards, has promised an unforgettable night of glamour and entertainment. The dress code for the evening is strictly formal, with tuxedos and Kente for men and evening gowns for women.

The Ghana Movie Awards, established in 2010, have become a key event in recognising and celebrating the achievements of the Ghanaian film industry. The inaugural ceremony was held on December 25 of that year at the AICC.
