The Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) has issued a series of directives to ensure a peaceful and orderly electoral process on Saturday, December 7.

One of the key directives is for voters to leave polling stations immediately after casting their ballots. This measure aims to avoid overcrowding and ensure the smooth conduct of the election.

In previous campaigns, some political party members were encouraged to remain at polling stations for vigilance. However, REGSEC has emphasized the importance of limiting the presence of non-essential individuals at these sites.

Additional security measures include a warning to vigilante groups, “macho men,” and private security personnel, advising them to stay away from polling centres. REGSEC has stated that anyone who violates these directives will face legal consequences.

The council reiterated its call for cooperation from all stakeholders to uphold the integrity of the election and maintain a peaceful environment throughout the process.
