Staff of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) have expressed optimism about a significant boost in productivity following the unveiling of the central bank’s new headquarters, known as The Bank Square, in Accra.

Sandra Thompson, Secretary to the Board of the Bank, praised the move during the commissioning ceremony held on Wednesday, November 20. She extended her gratitude to the Governor, Dr Ernest Addison, and his deputies for overseeing the completion of the modern facility.

“We are grateful for being moved from our 67-year-old cramped and overcrowded offices to this state-of-the-art edifice,” she said. “This change marks a new chapter for us. It feels as if we are now working on Wall Street. Everything about us, from our approach to work to even the way we carry ourselves, will transform.”

Ms Thompson further pledged on behalf of the staff that their productivity and output would increase significantly in line with the improved working environment provided by the new headquarters.
