Chelsea has officially assembled the most expensive squad in football history, with a staggering valuation of £1.4 billion at the end of the 2024 financial year, according to a new UEFA report.

The record-breaking figure surpasses the previous high of £1.1 billion, set by Real Madrid in 2020, highlighting the Blues’ heavy investment in player acquisitions under their new ownership.

Chelsea is one of only four clubs with squads worth over €1 billion, joined by Premier League rivals Manchester City, Manchester United, and Arsenal.

The report underscores the financial power of English clubs, as all four of the most valuable squads in world football belong to teams from the Premier League.

Despite their lavish spending, Chelsea’s performances on the pitch have yet to fully reflect their financial dominance, raising questions about the club’s long-term strategy and sustainability under Financial Fair Play regulations.
