The High Court in Accra has directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to proceed with the collation and declaration of the results for the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency in the Eastern Region, following the recent parliamentary election.

The ruling, delivered on Friday, December 20, 2024, by Justice Rev. Joseph Adu-Owusu Agyeman, also instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to ensure sufficient security at the collation centre during the process.

The court order follows a Mandamus application filed by the incumbent Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, seeking to compel the EC to finalise and announce the results. The EC’s legal team, led by Justine Amenuvor, confirmed it had been served with the application and did not oppose the ruling.
