Grammy-nominated artist Davido has asserted that any discussion of Afrobeats would be incomplete without acknowledging his significant contribution to the genre.

The statement comes as the Nigerian artist prepares for the release of his fifth studio album, 5IVE, set for March 2025.

Davido, who has played a pivotal role in bringing Afrobeats to international prominence, has seen widespread success with both his music and collaborations with global artists. His latest single, Funds, has already sparked excitement online.

In a post on Instagram, Davido wrote, “Afrobeats can’t be brought up without my name. Impossible.” He further emphasized his role as a genre-defining figure, noting that his new album 5IVE would further cement his place in the global music scene.
