Ghana’s Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has confirmed that the results for the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) will be released by December 29.

Dr. Adutwum made the announcement after visiting the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) printing facility. The visit followed delays in the release of the results, which WAEC attributed to a breakdown in scanners and outstanding government debts, which hindered repairs and purchases of new equipment.

In response to the challenges, the Ministry of Education allocated GH¢25 million to support WAEC’s printing operations. Dr. Adutwum expressed satisfaction with WAEC’s progress and reaffirmed that the results would be available on time, allowing universities to proceed with admissions for students.

“We are satisfied with the level of preparation and the work being done by WAEC,” he said. “By December 29, or even earlier, the results will be out, enabling students to continue with their education.”
