The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has opened the National Collation Centre to the media for the first time under the Fourth Republic, ahead of the announcement of the presidential election results.

Deputy Commissioner in charge of Operations, Samuel Tettey, explained that the move is aimed at ensuring transparency and allowing Ghanaians to participate in the process, helping to eliminate any doubts.

Fax machines have been set up at the centre for all 16 regions to transmit their collated results, with the final presidential election results expected to be announced within 72 hours by EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa.
