The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has announced that 60% of the results from polling stations have been received at the constituency collation centres, with 40% still pending.

Deputy Chairman of the EC, Samuel Tettey, provided an update on the electoral process after polls closed, confirming that collation is underway at all 276 constituency centres. He noted that there had been a second request for a recount at a polling station in the Suaman constituency in the Western North Region.

“There have been reports that about 60% of the polling station results have reached the constituency collation centres,” Tettey said. “So far, only one polling station, in Suaman, has requested a second recount by the Returning Officer.”

Tettey also clarified that the regional and national collation centres will be accessible only to accredited persons, with each candidate allowed two agents at the centres to avoid overcrowding.
