Ghanaian rapper Ayigbe Edem has strongly rebutted entertainment pundit Kwaku Osei Korankye Asiedu, known as KOKA, after he criticized Abla Dzifa Gomashie’s appointment as Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
In an interview on Hitz FM on January 17, 2025, KOKA questioned Gomashie’s qualifications for the position, suggesting she lacked the expertise to effectively lead the creative arts sector. Edem, however, swiftly took to social media to dismiss KOKA’s comments as “empty” and lacking substance.
On January 18, 2025, Edem, a supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), described KOKA’s remarks as a “long speech with nothing said,” accusing the pundit of offering no meaningful contributions to the discussion.
The criticism sparked a wave of disapproval on social media, with several users urging KOKA to avoid statements that could hinder the progress of Ghana’s creative arts industry.
Gomashie, the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, was nominated by President John Dramani Mahama on January 16, 2025, to serve as Minister for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts.
