A fire has destroyed more than 15 structures in the Circle Odawna area of Accra, Ghana, in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The blaze, which began just before dawn, was quickly brought under control by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS). Their swift response prevented the flames from spreading to a nearby warehouse and over 200 additional structures.

Eyewitnesses reported that the fire broke out close to the site of a recent blaze that had also caused significant damage to several wooden structures in the area.

The GNFS has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and has urged residents and business owners in this fire-prone zone to follow recommended safety measures to prevent future incidents.
