Dr. Bernice Adiku Heloo, former Member of Parliament for Hohoe, has passed away at the age of 70. Her death was confirmed by family sources and members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. She reportedly died in the early hours of the day following a short illness.
Dr. Heloo served as MP for Hohoe during the 6th and 7th Parliaments of the 4th Republic from January 2013 until January 2020, when she chose not to seek re-election after declining to contest her party’s parliamentary primaries.
She also held the position of Deputy Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation during the first term of former President John Dramani Mahama, from 2013 to 2017.
Born on September 24, 1954, Dr. Heloo was seen attending a few campaign events for the NDC in the recent election season.
