Four Arrested Over Deadly Shooting at Nyankpala

The Ghana Police Service has arrested four individuals in connection with a tragic shooting incident at Nyankpala in the Northern Region that left one person dead and another injured.

The suspects, identified as Majid Issah, Fodi Issiage Kamara, Yakubu Simalia, and Alhaji Bashiru Mohamed, are in custody assisting with investigations.

The shooting, which occurred earlier today, has sent shockwaves through the community. The injured victim is receiving medical care, while the deceased’s body has been sent to the morgue for preservation and autopsy.

In a statement, the Ghana Police Service said, “We are committed to ensuring that justice is served in this case. The suspects will face the full rigors of the law if found culpable.”

The Police also assured the public of their dedication to maintaining peace and order during the ongoing elections, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

“We call on residents to remain calm as we thoroughly investigate this unfortunate incident,” the statement added.
