Frank Annoh-Dompreh has been officially declared the winner of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Parliamentary seat following a re-collation of votes on Saturday, December 21.

Annoh-Dompreh, representing the New Patriotic Party (NPP), secured 29,640 votes, narrowly defeating his closest rival from the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 29,433 votes.

After the announcement, Annoh-Dompreh expressed his gratitude, dedicating his victory to the almighty.

The declaration comes after a High Court ruling on Friday, December 20, which directed the Electoral Commission (EC) to re-collate the results in several constituencies, including Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Ablekuma North, despite prior results being announced.

This decision followed legal action from both NPP and NDC parliamentary candidates, who had filed a writ seeking to compel the EC to conduct fresh elections due to alleged irregularities in the collation process and the declaration of winners.

Presiding Judge Joseph Adu Owusu Agyeman ruled in favour of the re-collation, dismissing objections from both NDC counsel, led by Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, and NPP lawyer Gary Nimako, who had argued that the results had already been declared. The court determined that the irregularities justified the re-collation process.
