Freddie Blay, former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has praised President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for maintaining his principles throughout his political career, including his two terms in office.

Blay’s comments come in response to suggestions from some quarters that the President’s character and priorities changed after taking office.

With Akufo-Addo’s presidency set to end in three days, he delivered his final State of the Nation Address to Parliament on January 3, 2025, reflecting on his administration’s achievements over the past eight years.

Blay, reflecting on the President’s legacy, rejected claims of inconsistency, asserting that Akufo-Addo had remained steadfast in his values and commitments to the nation.

“I have no reason to believe that he has changed. I have had the privilege of working with him and supporting him throughout his career. He has stayed true to the principles he set out eight years ago,” Blay said.

He further commended the President’s tireless work throughout his term, highlighting his dedication as he nears the conclusion of his presidency.
