George Opare Addo, Minister-Designate for Youth Development and Empowerment, has expressed his gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for his nomination, calling it a collective opportunity to reshape the future of the nation’s youth.

In a statement following his appointment on 16 January 2025, Opare Addo described the moment as a pivotal step in rewriting the narrative of young Ghanaians. “This is not just a personal milestone, but a collective opportunity to rewrite the story of our nation’s youth,” he said. “Today is Day 1, and we don’t have the luxury of time.”

Opare Addo, who has long been an advocate for youth issues, committed to leading with humility, resilience, and a vision focused on creating a brighter future. He outlined an ambitious policy agenda aimed at youth empowerment, job creation, and poverty reduction.

“My vision is clear: to implement the most aggressive and transformative policy framework for youth development in the history of Ghana,” he said. “Together, we will empower millions of young people and create decent jobs.”

He also emphasized the inclusive nature of his leadership, pledging that his doors would be open to all young Ghanaians, regardless of political affiliation. “No time for long bureaucracy,” he added, urging youth to take initiative and pursue their dreams.

“This is what the Mahama administration stands for: inclusive progress, bold action, and unparalleled ambition,” Opare Addo concluded.
